With the New Year just around the corner, we take a look at 2020 watches you’ll absolutely want to get your hands on.
If you’re looking to add a new watch to your collection next year, then you’re in the right place. Rumour has it there are a few big guns entering the market again in 2020. From Tag Heuer to Omega, these upcoming watch releases are set for a much anticipated 2020 release.
Seiko Alpinist Range
It’s finally official! Seiko has announced not one but four Alpinist-inspired watches for release in 2020. The new Prospex line comes off the back of the success of the first three models back in 2006. The four new watches will each have their own distinct styles but will be similarly priced.
First up, we have the SPB117 featuring a glossy black dial and silver markings. Coming in at around £570 ($750), it’s the priciest of the latest range. The SPB121, on the other hand, will showcase the iconic Alpinist green dial, gold cathedral hands and a Sterling case for approximately £550 ($725).
The SPB119 and SPB123 models offer something different with a much more simplistic appearance than the other two models. Both models will feature a classy, pale champagne dial. The key differences are the 119 will offer luxe silver markers and hands in comparison to the 123’s golden details. Both of these models will also be priced at around £550 ($725).
Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition
If you’re a fan of James Bond films then you’ll love this 2020 Omega addition. Set to be worn by Daniel Craig in his final appearance as James Bond, the Omega Seamaster 300m 007 features a rugged titanium case and either a mesh bracelet or military-inspired NATO strap. The watch also boasts a matte black dial complete with luxury tan markers and hands. We can’t wait to get our hands on this timepiece. With a fabric strap, this watch will set you back around £6,150 ($8,100), or a hefty £7000 ($9,200) with the titanium bracelet.
Tag Heuer Carrera
Details are minimal about this model so far, but Chief Executive Stéphane Bianchi has confirmed Tag Heuer will be launching a new Carrera watch in spring 2020.
With the design and price yet to be confirmed, the only details certain about the Motor Racing-inspired watch is that it will be announced at Baselworld watch fair next year. However, if it’s anything like the rest of the Carrera range, we expect it might feature a signature titanium black case and a glossy black dial. Keep an eye out for this one.
Oris Aquis GMT Date
The ever-popular Diver watch is set to get a makeover in 2020. In the 2019 edition, we saw Oris add a GMT to the Aquis range, going with a practical watch that has splashes of orange on the dial and a GMT hand to finish the sleek look. We can also expect a few more Oris models to be announced sometime in 2020, most likely during Baselworld. We expect the 2020 edition will be priced similarly to its 2019 counterpart, which can be purchased for £2,070 ($2,715).
